I
AM A RASTA- MAN OUT OF CAPTIVITY (VOLUNTARILY
LIVING IN BABYLON ) RASTAFARIAN.NET
AIMS TO RE-ADDRESS THESE ISSUES OF SPIRITUALITY, CULTURAL AWARENESS AND
EDUCATION FOR ALL SHOWING SIGNS OF GENUINE INTEREST, RE-LINKING THE
COMMUNITY WITH THE TRACEABLE INDISPUTABLE LEGITIMACY OF THE ROYAL AFRICAN
HERITAGE WHICH IS RASTAFARI, ANY INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANISATION WITH/WITHOUT
EXPERIENCE OF PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY ISSUES ARE WELCOME. WHAT DO I KNOW ? I KNOW THE TIME HAS LONG SINCE COME FOR BLACK PEOPLE TO CHANGE THINGS PERMANENTLY FOR THE FUTURE GENERATIONS, BY OURSELVES, FOR OURSELVES. ALTHOUGH MANY WHITES REFUSE TO ALLOW PROGRESS IN THIS IDEAL, HOWEVER, WE ALSO OWE IT TO THOSE PAST GENERATIONS WHO FOUGHT AND DIED FIGHTING FOR THE PARTIAL FREEDOM EXPERIENCED BY US TODAY. WHILE WE OUGHT TO REMAIN GRATEFUL FOR THE PROGRESS MADE BY THEIR VALIANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE TRUTH AND RIGHTS STRUGGLE, WE MUST NOT BE FOOLED IN TO COMPLACENCY OR WE WILL FIND OURSELVES TALKING AND SINGING ONCE AGAIN ABOUT THE DAYS WHEN WE WERE ALMOST FREE. RACISM IS STILL AFFECTING MOST BLACKS EVEN NOW IN 2002, SURELY IF WE ARE NOT FULLY ACCEPTED WHEREVER WE ARE WE SHOULD FIND SOMEWHERE THAT WE CAN BE! IN THE BIBLE IT CLEARLY INTENDS FOR US TO REPATRIATE TO THE PROMISED LAND. HOW IS IT SO EASY FOR SOME TO FORGET THE RAPES, TORTURES, MURDERS AND DESECRATION OF SACRED PEOPLES, ETC, ETC, ETC.... THE REAL RASTAFARIANS ARE THE ONES WHO NEVER FORGET THAT THEY ARE AFRICAN, AND SO OBVIOUSLY BELONG TO AFRICA. I KNOW TOO, THAT IT IS AN ABOMINATION TO DIG UP THE SACRED TOMBS OF OUR ANCESTORS, NEVER MIND TO HAVE THEIR BODIES ENCASED IN GLASS AND PUT ON SICK DISPLAYS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD IN VARIOUS MUSEUMS TO THIS DAY. WELL APART FROM THE BLATANT THEFT OF ALL GOLD AND JEWELS, STILL THE WESTERN WORLD SAY THAT 'AFRICA IS A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY AND OWE BILLIONS IN DEBT', AND TALK ABOUT HOW THEY ARE CIVILIZED AND WE NEED THEM, THEY HAVE DRAWN A FEW LINES IN AFRICA AND CAL IT DIFFERENT PLACES, EVEN THOUGH, EUROPE IS STILL MINUTE! AFRICA IS STILL ONE MASSIVE COUNTRY, WHICH ALONE REPRESENTS THE LARGEST LAND IN THE WORLD! AFRICA IS EQUAL TO ROUGHLY ONE THIRD OF THE TOTAL LAND OF THE ENTIRE PLANET, YET SOME EVEN BELIEVE THAT THE TINY LITTLE PLACE ENGLAND IS COMPARABLE IN SIZE, ACTUALLY YOU COULD EASILY FIT OVER 100 MICROSCOPIC ENGLAND'S INTO AFRICA. TRIBE We are all of a tribe.
This is determined by the time we are born.
Under the order of Jah we all have attributes/characteristics that work
together naturally. This is
sometimes easier to overstand if it
is viewed in terms of the body parts, each part (see tribe table in menu)
is necessary for a fully functioning ‘whole body’. This
is related to ‘the body of Christ’ Matthew 26:26. Genesis 29:32 onwards, is a description of the births of Jacob’s twelve sons who are the first born of each tribe. As descendants of these sons we make up the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Each of the sons had very eventful lives and these are described in chapters of the Lost Books of the Bible & the forgotten books of Eden (e mail for details of how to order your own copies). To be able to overstand your own
and other peoples tribe you can relate the narrative to what you already know of
yourself i.e. Look at the experiences of the son of Jacob of your tribe and see
if you think you would have made similar decisions to them in there situations. When thinking about this you need to remember that everyone has a positive and negative side, any of which can be at play depending on our state of mind (in unification with Jah’s will or not). This also has to be put together with the experience of the individual.
Your e-mail from around the world! Q:
hi my name is Chester and im currently a student at san Diego mesa
college. im taking anthropology 102 and we're doing a paper on ritual
behaviour and I thought it would be a good idea if I did a paper on
Rastafarians. I looked all over online to try to find anything on
Rastafarian ritual behaviours but I had no luck, then I found your
website. I was wondering if maybe you can VIEW: I do not consider myself a Rastafarian, however I have always been drawn to and fully support several aspects of the faith/way of life. This has been from my early teens ( I am now over the big 40) but still feel a connection, a oneness. (I am not a smoker/drinker) this link pushes me to dig as often as possible for the truth. It was while checking the net as part of my research that I came across your pages, I love your design and colour concept, ( subtle) but magnetic. With the lion in the background it is a constant reminder of your identity. As you develop you will receive a magnitude of traffic. I wish you all the best! Bless Shalom. This has been, and is always a pleasure to read. Thank you for your truly inspiring message, It's what makes this work so spiritually rewarding. ONE LOVE! Ixudah Q: ...I am female dreading my hair it is a big change (that which my mother is against), and I wanted to know if you have to have dreads to be true Rasta, or if you can just stop putting chemicals in your hair? A: 'You don't have to be dread to be Rasta', Rasta is a measure of the heart. It is truly up to you, the spiritual benefits of locking your hair are great. Using chemicals, comb and scissors are western practices. Ixudah. Q: Is there a group who meet in Bristol? Alex. A: We are currently putting together a mailing list of contacts in all over the world. As soon as we have some in Bristol we will let you know. Otherwise, if anyone from Bristol who would like to meet up with other people thinking about Rastafari in the area, send us an e mail and we will put you in touch. Ixudah Q: I have been reading a lot about the teachings of JAH, and the history and beliefs of Rastafari. I have a Question, you see I am 16 years old and I am white. I would like to know, are white people allowed to be Rastafarians? because if they are I would very much like to be one. I started learning about Rastafarians I guess because of Bob Marley, I consider him my hero! I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible. Thank you and peace, Tim. A: Rasta is only concerned with your heart Q: Greetings from Yugoslavia! I'm G (nickname), now... I have a problem, I truly want to be a Rasta, but I don't like smoking, I used to smoke for a couple of years, but I was always bad tripping so I decided to quit. I thought it was the best thing that ever happened, The point is: do I really have to smoke herb in order to get closer to JAH? JAH BLESS. A: Some Rasta smoke/drink herbs, some don't. I don't feel that you must smoke to be a Rasta, or to get close to JAH. Ixudah Q: Hello, I'm just wondering if you have any feelings towards white men using your religion as a means so they can legally smoke marijuana, I'm not sure if they practice the religious acts, I'm not sure if it would really be appropriate, but to see people, especially caucasians wearing t-shirts that say 'I am a Rastafarian, which means I believe in the religious belief to smoke marijuana and hash'. What are your opinions on the matter? I s this common practice among the white man, to still be kind of 'using' the Black man to acquire more of a stance in society? thanks for your time! Adrianne A: I would not appreciate anyone- Black or White to 'use' Rastafari for other means than love. Also to be Rastafarian does not mean a belief in smoking anything, just belief in JAH. Ixudah Q: Hi, My name is Heather and I am trying to research the Rastafarian culture and I am having trouble trying to find information about Rastafarian artworks and Rastafarian artists. I would appreciate it greatly if you could help me out. I am supposed to create a work of art incorporating the style used in Rastafarian artwork. Thank you for your help. Heather. A: Rastas tend to do a lot of carving from wood, sculptures and furniture..etc. Paintings of where we live and come from. Also a lot of images of our history, slavery, important events, Haile Sellassie, Lions and Green, Gold & Red. I hope this is helpful. Q: Is it acceptable for a white person to pursue a place in the Rastafarian religion? Are dreadlocks on White people offensive to black Rastafarians? lauren A: I think it is ignorance to judge anyone by appearance alone it is all about the heart. Ixudah Q: Why is Haile Sellassie regarded as JAH? A: Not all Rastas regard H.I.M. as JAH. Some think that HE is the Messiah, son of JAH like the Jesus concept while others see HIM as the King of the world and not directly son of Jah. Other theories exist, it is the individuals quest to find his own overstanding. Q: How does the Rastafarian mind place me, as White and beneficiary and freedom fighter and African?. Heinrich Q: If a White can turn Rastafarian please let me know.. Also let me know how this can be accomplished. A: If you have a clean and honest heart and do the works of the Father, you are a Rasta. Colour is not an issue. We need to learn about what has happened between our cultures and work to re-unit them. Q: ..there are people saying that I can not be a Rastafarian because I am White they feel they must show hate towards me and other people that do not fit in with the cesspool of popularity so I was just wondering that because I am White, does that mean I can not be a Rastafarian. A: Rastafari deals with clean hearts not with colour. people will try oppose your lifestyle but do not allow your faith to be shaken. This question is asked frequently so do not feel you are alone. Q:
Where does the white man
fit into the minds- -perspective
An Inquiring Mind. A:
Consider the humanity of knowing what is happening and doing nothing or
something to change the situation. Doing
something to help makes you a good person regardless of colour or race.
I believe unification is the key, only through JAH
LOVE. Ixudah. Q: I am a 20 year old black male just trying to seek knowledge on something I've been interested for a long period of time. So if possible can you help me gain knowledge? Sean. A: Sean. Where are you located? This would help us to put you in contact with people in your area. Reading is always a good way. Look at the booklist on the site. Otherwise you can ask Ixudah any questions you have. JAH GUIDE. Ixudah Q: Does RASTAFARI come from JUDAISM? Archem A: No, JUDAISM comes from RASTAFARI, as it is the most ancient tradition. ENOCH the ETHIOPIAN is the 7th descendant of ADAM. Q: Do people of RASTAFARI have any HOLY places or -TEMPLES? Medeese A: Yes, for example the ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH hold the ARK of the COVENANT in ETHIOPIA, guarded by TESFA MARIAM. Q: What is the RASTAFARIAN view of the conflicts in AFRICA and between ISRAEL and PALESTINE? A: All conflicts derive from the Devil, conflicts like these are caused by powers much greater than themselves in these times. "...He who feels it... knows it." Q: I have been researching RASTAFARI for the past year, and I keep coming up with that which I already know, seen?. What should a person like myself, who has lived in babylon all his life, do to become a TRUE RASTA?. What do you suggest I do to gain more knowledge of self when I am surrounded by those who believe they benefit from babylon?,... ONE A: JAH LOVE and greetings, thanks for your recent email. Big respect for your interest in- RASTAFARI, get yourself a copy of ENOCH the-ETHIOPIAN, there you will find much of the info you desire. Other enlightening books of cultural awareness, health and guidance can be found at: www.ebonybooks.co.uk. JAH GUIDE! Ixudah. Q: Hello, I am incredibly interested in the culture known as RASTAFARI, I am only 15 years of age and my father has told me that I can be whatever I wish to be. I have picked RASTAFARI because I believe the european white man is killing the earth. I myself am not African, I am ethnic yet I feel that we are living in a society which is evil. The main purpose of my email is that I have a problem and was wondering if you could give me some advice. Through the way of RASTAFARI I have come across the fact that GANJA is taken into consideration. I have only just recently tried this HERB and have enjoyed it on all occasions, but my dad does not support my choice of wanting to join the RASTAFARI way because he is very anti GANJA. He also believes due to the fact he is old and semi ignorant (racist in no way) that RASTAFARI is for outcasts and not a true religion, even though he himself is a Buddhist. Please give me some advice, is it still alright by JAH to smoke GANJA without the consent of my elders , even though to me it does not matter as long as I can honor the way of JAH. Thank you and PEACE! from Julian A: JAH LOVE, and greetings Julian, thank you for your email, RASTAFARI is not a religion, it is a Culture, see: (SAY WHAT YOU MEAN!) in RASTAFARIAN.NET Menu. On the question of GANJA, I think you need to check your conscience for the answer to that one, after all, it is there to show right from wrong, GANJA has many many positive uses of which smoking is just one. GANJA is a Cultural healing HERB, and is an important gift from JAH. JAH GUIDE! Ixudah Q: Why are you so enthusiastic about H.I.M. Haile Selassie I? IN ETHIOPIA THEY KILLED HIM, AND I KNOW THEY KILLED A GOOD EMPEROR, BUT ABOVE ALL A GOOD MAN! I'm a Monarchy supporter and I'd like to see again the House of Solomon on the Ethiopian Throne. Is it going to be possible? A:
I as well as you should be enthusiastic about H.I.M because he is KING OF KINGS,
LORD OF LORDS, CONQUERING LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, therefore how can anyone
kill H.I.M.? Totally ridiculous, all that believe in JAH shall never die! As
far as I am aware the house of SOLOMON is still on the ETHIOPIAN THRONE. ![]()
